Deutsches Institut für
Normung e.V. (DIN).
The German Institute for Standardization,
is a registered association, founded in 1917, as the German
national standards body. DIN also represents German standardization
interests at international and European level. DIN Standards
promote rationalization, quality assurance, safety, and environmental
protection as well as improving communication between industry,
technology, the sciences, government and the public domain.
The majority of the standards offered by DIN are aimed at
the German market. However, they are widely used outside
Germany by the European community and by manufacturers who
wish to import their products Germany and the European Community.
In addition, because of their exacting requirements and wide
ranging content, DIN standards are widely used worldwide
in education and product development activities. |
